The story of Helen Marie’s Gourmet Bread began in the small town of Guthrie, Oklahoma, and it is the celebration of a 100 year-old honored family recipe. Fans of southern cuisine immediately recognize the distinct shape and construction of our bread (which is also known as ‘monkey bread’), and are inspired by the memories of family gatherings that it re-awakens. After years of sharing loaves with friends and loved ones who were celebrating special events, we decided to honor the memory of Helen Marie by making the beloved bread available to the world.
In 2011, we officially established the Helen Marie’s Gourmet Bread company, and based our operations in the beautiful foothill community of Fontana, California. We are a small, minority-owned family business, and we have a passion for making an artisan bread that celebrates many of the family traditions that we hold dear. Our bread is also manufactured in southern California and is primarily distributed to this region; however, we are making plans to expand our distribution to other parts of the country in early 2012.
In addition to Helen Marie’s Gourmet Bread being a very versatile artisan bread, it is also a gourmet lover’s delight. Our bread is baked using only the freshest of ingredients, and we never use any chemicals or additives. The result is a light and fluffy, flavor-packed, delicious gourmet bread…every time! We are working diligently to make our bread available in select southern California retail and grocery locations by the Fall of 2011. We are also partnering with restaurants to make the bread available during the holidays.
